Inside Our Studio: How We Make Every Piece In House

At Lottie J Lingerie, every piece begins and ends in our own hands. Making our products in house allows us to ensure quality, and allows us stay true to our ability to maintain inclusivity. Here is a behind the scenes look at how our pieces come to life from the first sketch to the final stitch.

Lottie is deeply passionate about creating lingerie that feels as good as it looks. Every design begins with sensory friendly materials chosen for softness, stretch, and breathability so nothing irritates or distracts from comfort. The brand is rooted in gender and size inclusivity, made to honor every body exactly as it is. Each piece can be custom fit for free, because everyone deserves garments that truly fit and feel right without compromise.

Our team of queer artists, Lottie, Margot, Herme, Sam, & Demi, bring Lottie's designs to life in house, in our Chicago studio. We cut each piece by hand. Every seam, strap, and detail is stitched by our skilled artists who learned their techniques straight from the brand founder.

The process goes something like this:
Production meetings and building a cut pack. Using the cit pack to cut anywhere from 5 to 150 pieces at one time. Up to 12 rounds of sewing and snipping using 3 different sewing machines. Then strap and hardware are applied and the final threads are snipped before the item goes into its packaging, and off to be claimed by a cutie like yourself.

Keeping our production in house means we stay connected to every step of the process. It is what allows us to maintain high standards, stay responsive to our community, and honor the craft that started this brand in the first place. Each piece you receive carries that care, from the first idea to the final thread.
